​The ACT Ecolabel 2.0 Standard developed by the independent non-profit My Green Lab is a robust program for the evaluation, comparison, and clear communication of laboratory product sustainability. This revised scoring framework was created through a facilitated stakeholder consensus process, with balanced contributions from sustainability professionals, product manufacturers (of all sizes), academic representatives, procurement representatives, and regulatory agencies.

ACT Ecolabel 2.0 evaluates consumables, chemicals/reagents, and equipment used in the lab. The revised program framework includes:

• Product and Packaging: The materials, presence of hazardous chemicals, product longevity, and equipment energy efficiency are evaluated
• Enhanced Diversion Support: Options for diversion of used product from landfilling are reported
• Focus on Manufacturing Facility: The infrastructure, facility performance and practices, and renewable energy use at the product manufacturing site are scored
• Science-Aligned GHG Reductions: The alignment of company GHG emissions reduction targets with climate science are evaluated
• Expanded Product Carbon Footprint Reporting: Available product CO2e values are reported
